My name is Mfundo Sandile Sithole. I am 27 years old and I live at Georgedale, Hammarsdale. I am a musician, actor and an event organizer.
I started writing music in 2007 and recorded my first song in 2009. Since then, I have worked with local artists such as Mfana kaGogo, Busta MC, Brave, Lebitsa, Ragga-ish and MAP, to name a few. And so far, I have shared stages with Okmalumkoolkat, Zakwe, Witness The Funk, Beast, Tellaman and Dat Boy Mreppa.
My acting career is still blossoming. I have worked on a pilot project for a Hammersdale based drama series called “From Nowhere to Now here,” created by the late Mapiwe Mtshara. We also made a movie with him called “Alter Ego (the other I,)” which can be found on YouTube [ https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ooL-TtCa_js&feature=YouTube ] I have also worked on other local projects that were never released.
My love for event organizing started in 2016 when my friends and I put together a show we called “The Examination Shutdown.” The show’s purpose was to entertain matriculants on their last day at school while also giving them advice on what to do from then on. And then in 2018, we did one called “Georgedale Music and Fashion Showcase.” It made me realize how much I enjoy planning and executing, putting together and managing a great team, and all the ups and downs of organizing a show, especially when it goes so well in the end that people still talk about it a year later.
From now on, I aspire to make bigger and better shows, not just in my township but all around KZN and soon all around South Africa. And that goes for my music and acting too, I’m about to do it big.
